EGU General Assembly 2019: WEkEO Stand
The EGU (European Geosciences Union) General Assembly 2019, taking place in Vienna (Austria) on 7–12 April 2019, will bring together geoscientists from all over the world to one meeting covering all disciplines of the Earth, planetary, and space sciences.
The meeting’s sessions, typically over 500, cover a wide range of topics, including volcanology, planetary exploration, the Earth’s internal structure and atmosphere, climate, as well as energy and resources.
The Copernicus Marine Service and WEkEO (an EU cloud computing platform with all the Copernicus Programme data) will have stands at the event to promote their Earth observation data and services. The goal is to raise awareness about the two services particularly amongst young scientists. This annual event attracts over 14,000 scientists from all over the world, of which more than half are early career scientists. Each annual General Assembly typically has around 4500 oral presentations, over 10,000 posters, and around 1000 presentations.
Both stands will be present from April 7-12, with multiple representatives present to answer questions and present the services. WEkEO, which is implemented by EUMETSAT, ECMWF, and Mercator Ocean, will have have representatives from the three services present.
